Will Punjab change school timings in Lahore on air-quality grounds before 30 November 2026?

Punjab banned outdoor activities in schools on 18 August 2026 as a precaution ahead of the smog season. In past winters the province has also shifted school start and finish times, alongside outright closures, to keep children off the roads during the worst hours of the day. Nothing has been notified on timings for this season yet. Resolves: 30 November 2026 • Source: Punjab School Education Department notification Rule: Resolves YES if the Punjab government or the Punjab School Education Department issues a notification between 22 August and 30 November 2026 that changes the start or finish time of schools in Lahore district and cites smog, air quality or AQI as a reason. A notification covering Lahore among several districts does count. A full closure of schools, a change to winter vacation dates, a ban on outdoor activities, and a change of timings made for heat, security, Ramzan or the ordinary academic calendar do not count.
