PointsWill Punjab restrict business or construction activity in Lahore on smog grounds on or before 15 October 2026?
Punjab reaches for administrative orders most smog seasons — closing markets early, halting construction, stopping polluting industry in parts of Lahore — but it usually does so in November, once the air has already turned. This poll is about how early the province moves this year, not whether it moves at all. The question is whether any such restriction on commerce, construction, industry or traffic lands by the middle of October.
Resolves: 15 October 2026 • Source: Punjab government or Punjab Environmental Protection Department notification, as reported by Dawn
Rule: Resolves YES if the Punjab government, the Lahore district administration or the Punjab Environmental Protection Department issues a written order or notification dated between 22 August and 15 October 2026 inclusive that restricts commercial trading hours, construction activity, industrial operation or vehicle entry in Lahore district and cites smog, air quality or AQI as a reason. An order covering Lahore among several districts does count. Measures aimed only at schools, whether closures or changes of timing, do not count, and neither do rules already in force before 22 August 2026, enforcement action against individual brick kilns or vehicles under existing rules, or advisories that impose no restriction.
