PointsWhat will Pakistan's headline inflation rate be for August 2026?
Pakistan's headline inflation is measured month to month by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics from a basket of food, fuel, housing and other consumer prices, and it has swung sharply in recent years between double-digit spikes and much calmer single-digit readings. Food prices, the exchange rate and adjustments to fuel and energy tariffs are typically the biggest drivers of month-to-month moves, making a specific month's reading hard to call in advance.
Resolves: 15 September 2026 • Source: Pakistan Bureau of Statistics monthly CPI release (pbs.gov.pk)
Rule: Resolves on the year-on-year headline national CPI inflation rate for August 2026 as first published by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics in its monthly price indices release, taken to one decimal place. Exactly 8.0% or exactly 9.4% resolve in the middle band. Urban-only, rural-only, core (NFNE or trimmed) and month-on-month figures do not count, and later revisions do not change the outcome. If PBS has not published the August 2026 figure by 15 September 2026, the poll is voided and points are returned.
